A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Marvin Charles House of Tampa, FL who passed away on December 28, 2021, will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Cathedral, 3401 Bishop Eddie Newkirk Way, Tampa, FL 33605. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Mr. Marvin Charles House was born September 4, 1957 in Columbia, South Carolina as the youngest child of the late Mary F. Green (House) Myers and the late Robert Charles House.

He was reared in Tampa, Florida by his mother Mary and stepfather, the late M/Sgt. George E. Myers, Jr. (US Air Force, Retired). Marvin began his public school education at Progress Village Elementary School, continued at Dowdell Elementary School and graduated from C. Leon King High School. He was affectionately known by family and classmates as “Pee Wee” and “Petey”.

After graduating from high school Marvin joined the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged after serving his country. Marvin was a devoted husband, father, sibling and son. He was loyal, loving, kind, warm, welcoming, humorous, smiley and above all caring. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, watching football, basketball and baseball games. Marvin had a long career as a pest control specialist and exterminator. Marvin was a God-fearing man and a regular member of St. John Cathedral in Tampa, FL. Marvin transitioned to eternal rest on December 28, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents.

His surviving family include: a loving wife, Lee-Ann GriffithHouse; his children Sherika, Marshanna and Marvin, Jr. and bonus (stepdaughter) Jessica Clowney. Extended family include his siblings: Attorney Carolyn House Stewart (Delano), Colonel Robert L. House, US Army Retired (Lynette), Minister Sara Dillard-House, Velma Wallace (Charles), Mary HouseScott (John), Leroy House, Gwendolyn Newman, Monica Myers, Kathy House Jackson (Major) and Minister George E. Myers, III (Philena). Grandchildren Harmony and Navia. Mother in Law Shirley Griffith, Sister in Law Sabrina Jackson (Charles), and Brother in Law Garth Griffith (Alisha). Nieces and Nephews: Crystal House Alston (John), Terrance Dillard, Delsha Stewart, Nicholas Dillard, Michael House, Natori Walters, Christian Myers, Jessica Mitchell, J’lynn Myers, and Monicia Hightower. Marvin also leaves to grieve his memory, a host of other family members and special friends.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, January 8, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Cathedral and the funeral service begin at 11:00 a.m.

CDC guidelines will be followed. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
