Ms. Joann Sams

The Homegoing Celebration Service of Ms. JoAnn Sams of Tampa, who passed away on December 17, 2023, will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Gudes Funeral Home, 4060 E. Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. Interment will be at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea St., Tampa, FL 33610.

Joann Sams was born on May 14, 1954, in Tampa, Florida. Joann was dearly loved by those who preceded her in death: her parents, Larger Sams and Mother Josephine Sams; sisters, Brenda Sams and Gloria Mickens; brother, Albert Lee Sams; sister-in-law, Ethel Myers Sams, and nephew; James Lee Sams, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories with five brothers, Larger Sams, Jr. (Barbara), James Sams (Michelle), Robert Sams (Joyce), Alphonso Sams (Carol), and Lonnie Sams; one sister, Aretha Sams; two aunts, Nancy Gould and Doretha Pender; a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives along with special friends and neighbors, Vernita Woods and Barbara Ball and family; a special Thank you to Tampa General Hospital’s Medical Staff.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday morning for the viewing at 9:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Masks Are Recommended. Gudes Funeral Home “A Temple of Service”.
