Apostle Dewey J Hendrix, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service for Apostle Dewey James Hendrix of Tampa, FL who passed away on February 10, 2022, will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Light of the World Church, 4701 North 15th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610. Pastor Pernell Scott, officiating.

Dewey James Hendrix, Jr. was born on December 8, 1976 in Pahokee, FL to Dewey Hendrix, Sr. and Dorothy Hendrix. He was well known in muck city as bootman since a little boy and everyone was aware that he was called to be someone special. At a young age he dedicated his life to Christ and would travel around doing ministry for the Lord.

He had a total of ten siblings, Tashandria Hendrix-Richardson (Frederick), Jacquetta Hendrix, Emmanuel Hendrix, Emma Harrison, Avon Pitts, James Lee, Delinia Jackson (Craig), Jewel Hendrix, Doya Hendrix and Paul Hendrix.

Dewey James Hendrix, Jr. was anointed and multi-talented. He was anointed to sing, preach, and play different instruments. He loved traveling, cooking, fishing and anything that had to do with ministry.

Dewey James Hendrix, Jr. moved to Tampa, FL where he met and married Tameka Hendrix.

He had a total of ten children, Jajuana Hendrix, Jajuan Hendrix, Sr., Dewey Hendrix III, Alexis Hendrix, Daniel Hendrix, David Hendrix, Elijah Hendrix, and God-daughter, Tayonnia McClary.

Sixteen grandchildren, Jajuan Hendrix, Jr., Jajuan Hendrix III, Davario Hendrix, Davaris Hendrix, Davarion Hendrix, Kalil Mingo, Jr., Akeem Mingo, Kaleb Mingo, Marticus Washington, Dewey Hendris 5th, Christopher Castro, I’yanna Flowers and JQuan Flowers.

Aunts and Uncles, Emma Baker, Helen Branch, Brenda Baldwin, James Quinn, Willie Lee; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

There will be a viewing on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Light of the World Church. Family and friends are asked to assemble for the funeral service on Saturday at 10:45 a.m.

CDC guidelines will be followed. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
